BIDEN / HARRIS INAUGURATION INVITATION: This year, I was honored to be a part of a group of artists who received the official invitation to the Biden Harris inauguration, and were asked to redesign it in their style, I opted for a Kolam design — intricate patterns drawn with a fine powder made out of rice flour and limestone that adorn the driveway of a house. I grew up watching my mom decorate the front of the house with Kolam designs for every major occasion — Diwali, New Years, a birthday — so this felt like the right way to pay homage to my roots, as well as the roots of the first South Asian woman in the White House.

SHE VOTES: She Votes is an intersectional story of the women who won suffrage, and those who have continued to raise their voices for equality ever since. This book honors the 100th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment with illustrations by 100 women artists.I was lucky enough to be one of the artists featured in this book, with my illustration depicting Title IX, which is a federal civil rights law passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. This law protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance.

KSWISS: K-Swiss’ brief was simple: incorporate my own aesthetic and style along with K-SWISS apparel and footwear into two separate pieces of illustration. This was included in a magazine that had over 2000 copies distributed in the U.K.

FULLY FREE: IDENTITY X EXPRESSION PROJECT: I was on the board of the Fully Free Collective, and helped organize an Identity x Expression project examining people’s “masked” selves and their “fully free selves” that culminated at a gallery event that launched the book of narratives. Excerpts from the book below:

I’ve been lucky to work on ADCOLOR for the last three years, first as a creative at GSD&M and then directly as a part of the ADCOLOR Content Team. Here are some of the highlights:

ADCOLOR EVERYWHERE: To get people excited for the first completely virtual conference, I created a video featuring iconic moments from the past years, along with some reaction shots of this year’s winners. The best part of working on ADCOLOR is getting to wear different hats, like the editor one I put on to cut this video.

ADCOLOR 2020 Manifesto:

Black Trans Lives Matter:

OXFAM INTERNATIONAL: REIMAGINING VALENTINES DAY: For Valentine's Day, Oxfam collaborated with visual artists from different backgrounds and countries to create Valentine's Day cards that broaden the conversations on love. With their art, each artist touches on what healthy relationships look like, what it means to love others and themselves, how feminism can influence how we love, and more. My piece was featured on a ton of media publications, including Vice.
